Brigita Domarkaitė, MD

Psychiatrist & Sports Psychiatry Specialist

Dr. Brigita Domarkaitė is a psychiatrist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist with a specialisation in sports psychiatry. She has trained extensively in both clinical psychiatry and applied psychotherapy, including a dedicated programme in sports psychiatry developed by U.S. experts, incorporating supervised practice and applied mentorship in athlete mental health.

Drawing on her dual expertise in psychiatry and psychotherapy, she supports athletes in managing anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, and emotional regulation under competitive stress. Her work focuses on integrating mental resilience and self-awareness into the performance environment, helping athletes navigate both clinical symptoms and high-performance demands.

As a former competitive dancer, Dr. Domarkaitė combines clinical insight with personal experience of elite sport. She serves as Chair of the Medical Commission for the World DanceSport Federation and is a board member of the Lithuanian Society for Psychoanalysis, with additional affiliations to national and international psychiatric organisations.

Her practice reflects a growing recognition of mental health as integral to athlete care—linking emotional literacy, psychological support, and sustainable performance outcomes in sport.
